WELL! What can I say girls and boys? You were sensational and our market night was a great success. All your hard work and effort came to a wonderful culmination on the night. The food you provided was delicious. Your restaurant stalls looked fabulous and your costumes and props were wonderful. The multi-purpose room was a hive of activity and your families and friends enjoyed  wonderful taste sensations! The Stove TV program and your advertisements were great too. I am so proud of all of you and I think it was a great way to finish off our term and the studies you have undertaken. WELL DONE EVERYONE!

NOT LONG TO GO! It is nearly time for our Taste Sensation Market. Everyone has been working hard and getting their research completed and our highly unusual TV advertisements filmed! They are certainly very individual. We have had a few hiccups along the way with music difficulties and some retakes but we are sure they will be fun to watch even if they are bit different to our original ideas!

All students have been busy finding suitable foods to share at our market. All students have been asked to bring in a list of ingredients they may need and to give me a copy of their recipe. I would like all ingredient requests by Friday 5th December.

We are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the Market on Thursday 11th December. Students will need to be at school at 5.30, with their delicious foods and our market stalls will be open for business at approximately 5.45.

CURTIS:  Wow the school fete was awesome. Michael, Ben, Harry and I and some other kids had lots of fun on the rides. They were awesome too. I reckon the grade 5T stall was the best . It was called lucky squares. I think it was the best fete ever plus the fireworks were great. The explosions gave a bright colour in the sky it was a beautiful scene. I liked the fireworks so much i can’t wait till next years fete!

This week we have also been revising work on perimeter and area as well as taking another look at certain areas of fractions, decimals and percentages. There has been lots of work happening, including some great narrative writing and mosiac art creations too.   WELL DONE EVERYONE!

Harry: I thought that camp Coolamatong was awesome! The activities at Coolamatong were great and i loved the bikeride. The staff were really nice to us and we were nice to them too. When i got to Coolamatong I thought this was going to be a really bad camp but when i went and met the staff and looked around the place it wasn’t that bad. The food at Coolamatong was really nice and i liked the ice-cream. I had the best time at Coolamatong i want to go back there next year!! =D

Kea: Camp Coolamatong was great! My favourite activity was the abseiling wall. It was scary but really fun! I also liked the bushcraft. The food was delicous and I learnt a lot too. The bike ride was fun too. I was afraid that a snake would bite me, but that didn’t happen. My favourite bit on the bike ride was going over the jumps. On the boat ride I took some really good photos of the water. We went to a place near the 90 Mile Beach to have lunch. At the place we played with a soccer ball. That was fun. After lunch, we walked through this really weird looking forest like area to get to the 90 Mile Beach. When we got on the sand we played an awesome game called fox holes. Unfortunately, my awesome heart sunglasses broke. I felt sad!!! Later on that day we had redfaces. When I was doing it, I injured my hand badly and had to go to hospital. That was not fun! The hurting the arm part was not fun but I really enjoyed the rest of the camp!

WE HAD A FABULOUS TIME AT COOLAMATONG!

Welcome back for the final term! It is great to see the enthusiasm and excitement surrounding our  ‘My Restaurant Rules’ unit. The classroom was a buzz of noise and drum rolls today, as the groups were announced and the countries chosen! Your responses and attitude were very positive. Grade 5 have certainly taken up the challenges so far. What a great start!

Thank you grade 5. You have worked so well and completed a great term’s work. I am very pleased with the way so many of you have stepped up and proven what great workers you are and great SCARF students. WELL DONE! It was a very busy term and I hope you will enjoy a restful but fun filled break over the next two weeks.

As I mentioned to you last week, we have some sensational activities planned for you in term 4 and I know that you will ‘take up the challenge’ and do your best to finish off well in the final quarter. Our unit- My Restaurant Rules, will be a lot of fun. We have our camp to Coolamatong on the 20th October and many other special activities planned.
